AprMedieval and Early Modern sources online
This is a (growing) list of electronic resources useful for both students and scholars interested in Medieval and Early Modern studies. Here, you will have at hand some of the most frequently used catalogues, repertories, and repositories of sources from that particular period.
1. The Virtual Library of Bibliographical Heritage is a cooperative project of the Ministry of Culture and the Autonomous Regions, which aims to distribute printed books and manuscripts from Spain's Historical Heritage by digital facsimile. This initiative will give users unrestricted access to sources which are, by their very nature, difficult to access. 578.000 pages are available from more than 2.000 books kept at Public State Libraries. Other institutions with heritage resources have also entered into the agreement and have started participating.
2. El Portal de Archivos Españoles es un proyecto del Ministerio de Cultura destinado a la difusión en Internet del Patrimonio Histórico Documental Español conservado en su red de centros. Como proyecto abierto y dinámico sirve de marco de difusión para otros proyectos archivísticos de naturaleza pública o privada, previamente establecido un marco de cooperación con el Ministerio de Cultura. PARES ofrece un acceso libre y gratuito, no solo al investigador, sino también a cualquier ciudadano interesado en acceder a los documentos con imágenes digitalizadas de los Archivos Españoles.
3. Catálogo Colectivo del Patrimonio Bibliográfico Español. Description and location of books and other bibliographic resources in Spanish libraries and institutions, whether public or private, that as a result of their age, uniqueness or richness form a part of Spain's Historical Heritage. The Bibliographical Heritage Union Catalogue is a joint programme between the Ministry of Culture and the Autonomous Communities, pursuant to Law 16/1985, the Historical Heritage Act.

5. PhiloBiblon. PhiloBiblon is a bio-bibliographical database management system designed to catalog the primary sources, both manuscript and printed, of a given corpus of texts, along with relevant secondary bibliography and authority files for persons, places, and institutions mentioned in the database. The web-based version gives partial access to three of the bibliographies that have used PhiloBiblon to catalog the vernacular sources of medieval Iberian culture: BETA (Bibliografía Española de Textos Antiguos), BITECA (Bibliografia de Textos Antics Catalans), BITAGAP (Bibliografia de Textos Antigos Galegos e Portugueses).
6. Corpus del Español (Mark Davies). This website allows you to quickly and easily search more than 100 million words in more than 20,000 Spanish texts from the 1200s to the 1900s. The interface allows you to search for exact words or phrases, wildcards, lemmas, part of speech, or any combinations of these.
7. CORDE. Corpus Diacrónico del Español, Real Academia Española. A searchable corpus of spanish words and concordances from the origins of the language to nowadays.
9. The Bibliothèque des livres à feuilleter is hosted at the virtual exhibition site of the Bibliothèque Nationale de Paris. This section contains electronic facsimiles of several important french manuscripts of the Roman de la Rose, Lancelot, Alexandre, Roland, etc.
9. The Digital Scriptorium is an image database of medieval and renaissance manuscripts that unites scattered resources from many institutions into an international tool for teaching and scholarly research. It bridges the gap between a diverse user community and the limited resources of libraries by means of sample imaging and extensive rather than intensive cataloguing
10. Online Reference Book for Medieval Studies . The ORB is an academic site, written and maintained by medieval scholars for the benefit of their fellow instructors and serious students. All articles have been judged by at least two peer reviewers. Authors are held to high standards of accuracy, currency, and relevance to the field of medieval studies. This also contains Paul Halsall's Internet Medieval Sourcebook .
