This lecture was given at the University of California, Berkeley, during one of the so-called Medieval luncheons. The title is quite self-explanatory, and it deals particularly with one of the manuscripts containing a first redaction of Alfonso X's Primera Partida.

Trata, más en general, del papel que pueden cumplir las imágenes en manuscritos legales que, al cabo, se proponen como insuplementables.
